Classical dance of the finest artists is onstage at Ratha-yatra, showcasing a variety of the styles native to India, such as Odissi, Bharat Natyam, Manipuri and Kathak. The dancers are exquisitely dressed in traditional, brilliantly colored silken attire. The dance often depicts the pastimes of Lord Krishna.
This names a few of the many dance companies:
- Viji Prakash and the Shakti Dance Company
- Nandita Behera, classical Odissi dance
- Anjani’s Kathak Dance of India troupe with Amrapali Ambegaokar, of famed Cirque du Soleil.
Live dramatic performances in full costume are performed to illustrate philosophical lessons from the great Indian classics such as the Bhagavad-Gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam or Mahabharata. Performers from the Hare Krishna congregation depict heroes and or villains in colorful, moving performances directed by long time Director Anadi Dasa. Alternatively, the Vaisnava Youth Bus Tour brings their own exciting dramatic performances.
